Bhubaneswar, Aug. 6 -- Odisha is planning to establish Wayside Amenities Centres at intervals of every 50 kilometres along National Highways, Expressways, State Highways and major district roads to provide essential facilities for travellers and improve road safety.
The proposal was discussed at a high-level meeting chaired by Odisha Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Thursday.
The meeting decided that, in the first phase, the state government will sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with public sector oil marketing companies for the establishment of the facilities.
