Bhubaneswar, Sept. 10 -- The Odisha Government has drawn up an ambitious plan to establish a state-of-the-art Rice and Millet Factory aimed at empowering farmers, strengthening Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and creating globally competitive brands for the state's indigenous grains.

The proposed factory will be developed as a farmer-driven venture with ownership and participation of FPOs and SHGs, supported by private players and institutions, official sources said.
