Bhubaneswar, March 25 -- Odisha is set to become a Naxal-free state by the end of this month, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi declared in the state Assembly today.

Replying to the debate on the demands of grants for the Home and General Administration department, Majhi said the influence of Maoists has significantly declined, and while the state moves toward complete elimination of Naxal activities, efforts will continue to ensure lasting peace.

"Since our government came to power, strict action has been taken against Maoists," the Chief Minister noted.
