Bhubaneswar, May 22 -- A high-level team of Odisha government officials on Thursday visited several locations in the Bhitarkanika region known for its dense mangrove forests and national park rich in bio-diversity, to explore opportunities for tourism development and livelihood generation for local communities.

The team included Tourism Secretary Balwant Singh, Commerce and Transport Secretary, Rajnagar Divisional Forest Officer Bharadaraj Gaonkar, Assistant Conservator of Forests Manas Kumar Das, the Rajnagar Tahsildar and other officials, official sources said.
