Bhubaneswar, Sept. 24 -- Odisha continued to maintain close vigil over the movement of the Deep Depression after the weather system crossed the coast and moved inland, with special focus on southern and western districts, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said on Thursday.
The Deep Depression is likely to move north-northwestwards and gradually weaken into a Depression by this evening, Mr Pujari said, adding that it is expected to continue moving in the same direction during the subsequent 24 hours and weaken further.
The Minister said that with the system having crossed the coast and moving inland, the State Government was maintaining constant watch over the evolving weather situation and its possible localised impact.
