Bhubaneswar, May 26 -- In a step towards rural transformation under the "Developed Odisha Vision 2036-47", the Odisha government launched two flagship initiatives - the 'Model Village Mission' and the 'Mahapurusha Adarsha Gram Yojana'.

The programmes were launched by Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik on Sunday through a video conference with officials from all districts .

The government said the initiatives aim to strengthen rural infrastructure, improve public amenities and transform villages into self-reliant and sustainable growth centres.
