Odisha launches door-to-door crocodile awareness drive to prevent human-wildlife conflict in flood-hit coastal areas

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 4 -- With floodwaters swelling major river systems and increasing the risk of crocodiles straying into human settlements, the Odisha government has launched an extensive door-to-door awareness campaign across vulnerable coastal villages to prevent human-crocodile conflict during the monsoon.

The Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department has intensified its outreach in flood-prone areas, urging residents to remain vigilant and immediately report crocodile sightings through a dedicated WhatsApp helpline to facilitate swift intervention by forest officials.
