Bhubaneswar, Feb. 13 -- In a significant step toward inclusive welfare and spiritual access, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Friday launched the 'Shree Jagannath Darshan' scheme to enable senior citizens and widowed mothers from economically weaker sections to visit Jagannath Temple at government expense.

The initiative reflects the state government's vision that every Odia should have the opportunity to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath at least once in their lifetime.

Launched at Nabarangpur and simultaneously rolled out in Bhadrak, Baripada, Sambalpur, and Berhampur, the scheme will benefit senior citizens aged 60-75 years and widowed mothers up to 75 years of age.
