Bhubaneswar, Jan. 3 -- The Odisha government has adopted satellite imagery to verify agricultural plots in a major step toward ensuring transparency and fairness in the ongoing paddy procurement process across the state.

The satellite-based verification system aims to safeguard the interests of genuine farmers by preventing ineligible registrations and misuse of public resources. The initiative ensures accuracy in identifying paddy-cultivated land during the Kharif season.

Using satellite imagery, suspected non-cultivated paddy plots are being systematically identified and subjected to thorough field verification. This process helps confirm genuine paddy cultivation in registered land parcels and accurately detect non-cultivated areas.
