Bhubaneswar, June 15 -- The Odisha Government has intensified implementation of its flagship Gaurav and Respect for Individuals Involved in Manual Activities (GARIMA) Scheme across all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), reinforcing its commitment to ensuring the safety, dignity and overall welfare of core sanitation workers.

Implemented by the Housing and Urban Development Department, the initiative seeks to eliminate hazardous manual sanitation practices, promote mechanised sanitation services and extend comprehensive social security benefits to sanitation workers who play a critical role in maintaining urban cleanliness and public health.
