Puri, June 24 -- A dispute linked to customer service at a hotel in Odisha's pilgrim town of Puri took a violent turn on Wednesday, leading to the murder of a hotel leaseholder and a subsequent police encounter in which one of the accused sustained bullet injuries.
According to police, the victim, identified as Pabitra Nayak, had taken a hotel on lease on Dhabaleswar Road in the Baliapanda area and had contracted out some rooms to the OYO hotel network.
Police said Pabitra visited the hotel after receiving complaints regarding customer service issues and questioned hotel manager Chandan Pallar over the matter. The exchange reportedly escalated into an argument.
