Bhubaneswar, May 1 -- On the occasion of International Workers' Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday announced a Rs 10 increase in the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for workers, raising daily wages across all labour categories with retrospective effect from April 1.

Following the revision, unskilled workers in Odisha will now receive Rs 472 per day, semi-skilled workers Rs 522, skilled workers Rs 572, and highly skilled workers Rs 622.
