Bhubaneswar, Sept. 7 -- The Odisha Congress today threatened to launch a statewide agitation if the state government did not withdraw the notification amending the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.
Addressing newsmen here Pradesh Congress SC Department Chairman Manas Kumar Mallik alleged that the BJP-led state government is conspiring to dilute the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, thereby denying justice to victims of caste-based discrimination and atrocities.
