Bhubaneswar, July 16 -- The Odisha Government has deployed emergency response teams, mobile pumping units and dedicated field officers across Puri to tackle heavy rainfall and waterlogging, ensuring uninterrupted arrangements for the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.
The Housing and Urban Development Department, in close coordination with the Puri Municipal Corporation (PMC), has stationed teams on a 24x7 basis to monitor vulnerable locations and respond swiftly to flooding and drainage-related emergencies.
Puri received nearly 200 mm of rainfall over the past 24 hours, resulting in severe waterlogging in several low-lying areas and disrupting normal traffic ahead of the annual festival.
