Bhubaneswar, Sept. 6 -- The Excise Department of Odisha continued its statewide crackdown on illicit liquor and narcotics, seizing contraband valued at Rs.1.25 crore in a single-day operation.
According to official sources, the day-long raids led to the detection of 250 cases linked to illicit liquor and narcotics.
A total of 115 individuals were arrested, while 79 others were released under the provisions of Section 35 of the BNSS.
Narcotics enforcement was a major focus of the drive, with eight NDPS cases registered. The seizures included 156 kilograms of ganja, 200 grams of brown sugar, 25 kilograms of bhang, and 400 kilograms of mohua flower.
