Bhubaneswar, April 13 -- The Odisha Government University (Teacher Cadre Reservation) Act, 2026, has officially come into force across the state after receiving the approval of Governor Haribabu Kambhampati.

The Act was passed in the Legislative Assembly following extensive discussions late into the night on March 31, and it now paves the way for a more inclusive and equitable higher education system in Odisha.

Expressing his appreciation for the Governor's approval, Higher Education Minister Surya Banshi Suraj hailed the passage of the Act as a major step towards transforming the state's educational landscape.
