Bhubaneswar, May 9 -- Odisha has emerged as the best-performing state in the country in completion of houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U 2.0), officials said on Friday.
The state has retained the top rank in house completion performance from March 2025 to March 2026, underscoring its rapid progress in implementation of affordable housing projects for the urban poor, they said.
Officials said Odisha has sanctioned 24,625 houses under PMAY-U 2.0 since the scheme was rolled out in September 2024.
Of the total sanctioned units, 23,464 sites have already been geo-tagged, while foundation work has begun for 3,134 houses.
