Bhubaneswar, April 18 -- The Odisha government has prepared a comprehensive roadmap to tackle the ongoing heatwave, with a special focus on ensuring the safety of passengers and transport workers along National Highway-49.
Chairing a high-level virtual coordination meeting on Saturday, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari directed officials to implement targeted measures in Jharsuguda district of Odisha and neighbouring Raigarh district in Chhattisgarh.
Emphasising that NH-49 is a highly sensitive and busy transport corridor, the Minister stressed that it is the primary responsibility of the administration and police to prevent any loss of life due to extreme heat conditions.
