Bhubaneswar, Oct. 27 -- The Odisha government today deployed 128 rescue teams acrosseight southern districts likely to be affected by Cyclone Montha, and announced the closure ofall schools and Anganwadi centres till October 30 as a precautionary measure.

According to official sources, the eight districts identified as the Red Zone are Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nabarangpur, where the cyclone's impact is expected to be most severe.

The state government has cancelled all official leave till October 30 and directed the district administrations to begin evacuation from low-lying and vulnerable areas.
