Bhubaneswar, June 2 -- Odisha Congress on Tuesday demanded a fair and independent investigation into the alleged custodial death of a youth at Kabisuryanagar police station in Ganjam district, accusing the state government and police administration of failing to curb growing incidents of police brutality.
Addressing a press conference here, senior Congress leader and former MP Nagendra Pradhan held the Home Department and the police administration accountable for the custodial death and expressed concern over what he described as a disturbing rise in custodial torture and police excesses across the state.
