Bhubaneswar, Sept. 4 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday transferred more than Rs 833 crore directly to the bank accounts of farmers and landless agricultural families under the fifth instalment of the CM-KISAN scheme, ahead of Janmashtami and the agriculture-based festival of Nuakhai.
The fund was transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to benefit 41,37,782 small and marginal farmers, 13,949 landless agricultural families and 329 members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) across the state.
Addressing the gathering, Majhi said the assistance would help farmers meet expenses on seeds, fertilisers and pesticides ahead of the 2026-27 Rabi crop season.
