Bhubaneswar, June 26 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday initiated stringent action over large-scale errors detected in Odia textbooks, suspending four officials associated with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) and ordering disciplinary proceedings against six others.

The action follows the submission of a report by a three-member committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner to investigate mistakes found in school textbooks.

According to sources in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the committee submitted its findings to the Chief Minister, following which immediate administrative action was approved.
