Bhubaneswar, June 22 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has approved a 40 per cent increase in financial assistance provided to practicing lawyers and their families under the State Welfare Fund for Advocates.
According to sources in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), the revised assistance will benefit thousands of advocates working across courts in the state.
The financial support is extended to lawyers upon retirement and to their immediate family members in the event of the lawyer's death.
The revision comes after the last enhancement of the assistance amount in 2021.
