Bhubaneswar, June 23 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday enhanced the ex-gratia assistance for the families of Odia workers who lost their lives in the ammonia gas leak incident in Tamil Nadu's Tiruvallur district to Rs 10 lakh each.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh per deceased worker's family from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF). In view of the increasing death toll and the gravity of the tragedy, the compensation has now been revised to Rs 10 lakh for each affected family.
