Bhubaneswar, Aug. 1 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday said the flood situation in the state is steadily improving and expressed confidence that floodwaters in the affected areas would recede within the next two days.
After conducting an aerial survey of flood-hit areas across more than 12 blocks in five districts, accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and the Special Relief Commissioner, the Chief Minister said several villages continue to remain marooned, though the overall situation has shown marked improvement.
