Bhubaneswar, Aug. 18 -- Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday announced a special assistance package of Rs 1,000 crore for people affected by the recent floods in Odisha and assured that the state government would provide all necessary support to restore normalcy in the affected areas.

The package was announced after the Chief Minister reviewed the flood situation and relief operations at a high-level meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan on Tuesday morning. Majhi had visited flood-hit areas of Jajpur and Bhadrak districts on Monday to assess the damage and interact with affected people.
