Bhubaneswar, Oct. 3 -- Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday announced cash awards of Rs 11 lakh each for members of the Indian Women's Hockey Team and Rs 5.5 lakh each for the support staff following their historic gold medal triumph at the 2026 Asian Games.
Congratulating the team on its outstanding performance, Majhi lauded the players for their determination, commitment and fighting spirit, saying their achievement had brought immense pride to the nation.
The Chief Minister said the Odisha Government stood firmly behind Indian hockey and remained committed to supporting athletes and nurturing sporting excellence.
