Bhubaneswar, Feb. 17 -- The Odisha Legislative Assembly on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the demise of five of its former members, including a former union minister, who passed away between the previous and the ongoing sessions of the House.
The Assembly came together in a solemn gesture of respect, remembering their contributions to public life and governance.
The House mourned the passing of former minister and also former union minister Kahnu Charan Lenka and former members Askhya Kumar Acharya, Kulamani Rout, Sanchita Mohanty, and Raseswari Panigrahi.
As a mark of respect to the departed leaders, members of the Assembly observed a one-minute silence.
