Bhubaneswar, March 13 -- Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Badagaon Police Station in Odisha's Sundargarh district, Arupa Nanda Das, was arrested by the Odisha Vigilance for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 from a dhaba owner.

According to Vigilance officials, Das was caught red-handed while receiving the bribe on Thursday from the eatery owner. The money was allegedly demanded to help the complainant in a case and allow him to run his business without interference.

Vigilance sources said the accused ASI is being forwarded to court on Friday.

A case has been registered against Das under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018.
