Kendrapara, June 11 -- Tikhiri Gram Panchayat Sarpanch Chameli Ojha was arrested on Thursday after allegedly misbehaving with Mahakalapada Block Development Officer (BDO) Rabi Narayan Acharya, obstructing official work and assaulting police personnel who arrived to intervene.
According to Kendrapara SP Siddharth Kataria, Ojha entered the BDO's chamber along with her brother while the officer was attending a meeting and allegedly created a disturbance over official matters.
Police said she prevented the BDO from leaving the chamber and disrupted office functioning, prompting him to seek police assistance.
A police team led by Mahakalapada IIC Manas Kumar Mallick reached the spot and attempted to escort her to the police station.
