Kendrapara, June 9 -- A labourer died of suspected asphyxiation while two others, a father and his son, were critically injured after entering a well for cleaning work in Odisha's Kendrapara district on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Parikhita Singh of Demal village. The injured, Chittaranjan Samal and his son Ramesh Samal of Manpur village, were rescued and admitted to hospital in critical condition.
According to police sources, the three workers had been engaged to clean a well belonging to Sukanta Parida at Manpurpatana village under the Aul police station limits.
Parikhita was the first to enter the well. After removing a few buckets of water, he suddenly collapsed and became unconscious, apparently due to oxygen deficiency ...
