Bhubaneswar, April 6 -- Forest officials in Odisha have apprehended a man from Ringibadi, under Chakapada Police Station in the Kandhamal district, and seized a leopard skin from his possession.

During questioning, the accused confessed to poisoning the leopard to death in May last year.

He stated that the animal had killed one of his cows in the cowshed, prompting him to take lethal action.

According to Phulbani Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF), Swetaleena Sahu, the leopard was found dead near the cowshed the following day after attempting to feed on the decaying cow carcass.
