Balasore, July 28 -- Heavy rain triggered by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal inundated large parts of Odisha's Balasore district on Tuesday, causing widespread waterlogging, disrupting normal life and leaving residents in several areas grappling with flood-like conditions.
Almost the entire Balasore town remained submerged as rainwater, mixed with overflowing drain water, entered residential localities. Several roads were engulfed by fast-flowing water, making commuting difficult and hazardous, particularly in low-lying areas. Floodwaters entered numerous houses, damaging property and household belongings.
Among the worst-affected localities were Bhaskarganj, Angargadia Nuasahi, Gudipada, Chidia Polo, Azimabad and the Congres...
