Bhubaneswar, May 30 -- In an initiative aimed towards the preservation and promotion of Odisha's cultural heritage, the State Government has sanctioned Rs 1.08 crore for the celebration of the historic Sital Sasthi festival in Sambalpur district.

The financial assistance has been approved by the Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department following the directions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. A total of 21 Sital Sasthi committees across the district will receive support for organizing this year's festivities.
