Kendrapara, June 17 -- : Kudanagari police in Odisha's Kendrapara district have arrested former sarpanch of Karilopatana GP, Sukanta Kumar Sahu, for his alleged involvement in outraging the modesty and attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl, Kendrapara SP Siddharth Kataria said on Wednesday.
According to Kataria, the accused on June 13 night allegedly asked the minor victim to come to a lonely place, located at the backside of his house, and outraged her modesty and attempted to rape her.
The victim later managed to flee from the clutches of the accused Ex-sarpanch and brought the matter to her family members.
