Bhubaneswar, April 16 -- : The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has sought urgent intervention from the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes following the tragic death of a 12-year-old tribal student and the illness of more than 150 others in a suspected food poisoning incident at Kakabandh Ashram School in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.
The incident, reported on April 12 under the Rasgovindpur block, allegedly occurred after students were served stale or leftover food, raising serious concerns over food safety standards and administrative oversight in a state-run residential school meant for the welfare of Scheduled Tribe children.
