Bhubaneswar, Aug. 1 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today accused the BJP government in Odisha of failing to respond effectively to the flood situation, alleging that Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and senior BJP leaders were occupied with political engagements in New Delhi while more than 20 districts reeled under floods.
Former ministers and BJD vice-presidents Devi Prasad Mishra and Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak alleged that the state government had failed to provide timely relief and assistance to flood-affected people despite the worsening situation.
