Bhubaneswar, Aug. 10 -- The Opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) today accused the BJP government of failing to fulfil its election promises on employment, questioning its claim of providing jobs to 45,000 youths during the past two years.

The charge came after Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, attending the 16th Rozgar Mela organised by his government, said his administration was committed to providing employment opportunities to unemployed youth in the State.

In a statement, BJD spokesperson and media coordinator Dr Lenin Mohanty alleged that the government's claim of providing 45,000 government jobs was misleading, as recruitment notifications for around 39,000 of these posts had been issued between 2020 and 2023, during the previous BJD ...
