Bhubaneswar, May 21 -- The Odisha Government has initiated steps to establish a formal Friendship Agreement with Japan's Tottori Prefecture to strengthen cooperation in areas such as industrial development, skill development, tourism, culture, youth exchange and people-to-people ties.

The initiative gained momentum following discussions between Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Consul General of Japan in Kolkata ISHIKAWA Yoshihisa on Wednesday.

Subsequently, an in-person meeting was held between Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg and the Japanese delegation to deliberate on the proposed agreement and explore avenues for expanding bilateral cooperation in sectors of mutual interest.
