Bhubaneswar, July 24 -- An Odia youth who had been stranded in Saudi Arabia after the completion of his employment contract is set to return home on July 26 following the intervention of Odisha Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain.

The youth, Pralaya Ranjan Mahapatra of Jagatsinghpur district, had travelled to Saudi Arabia on May 24, 2024, to work as a wheel loader driver with Mazad Al-Harbi Co. Although his employment contract expired on April 30, 2026, the company allegedly failed to facilitate his return to India by withholding his Final Exit permit.
