New Delhi, May 13 -- Underlining the importance and the role of nursing fraternity in the healthcare sector, Delhi Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh on Tuesday acknowledged the indispensable role of the nurses and stated they have always served humanity with dedication and compassion.
Addressing a programme at a Delhi Hospital on International Nurses Day, the minister called nursing a symbol of care, sensitivity and selfless service, a lot more than just a profession.
"When a child is born, the first person after the mother who cares for the newborn is a nurse," Singh said, underlining the importance of empowering and supporting the entire nursing community.
