Dharamshala, Aug. 1 -- Continuing its crackdown on the illegal narcotics trade, the Nurpur Police in Himachal Pradesh arrested a 26-year-old man and seized 10.28 grams of heroin (commonly known as chitta) from his possession, police said on Friday.

Nurpur district superintendent of Police Ilma Afroze told UNI that a team of the CIA unit, Nurpur, was on routine patrol in the Kandwal area on the night of July 30 when it acted on a specific tip-off. The team intercepted a suspicious youth near the Nagni Mata Temple bus stop on National Highway-154 at Kandwal and conducted a search in accordance with legal procedures.
