Dimapur, July 14 -- A Nagaland University community-based initiative has empowered women SHGs in Zunhebotot district to earn through backyard poultry initiative, proving how scientific backyard poultry farming and low-cost egg incubators can significantly boost rural livelihoods and nutritional security.

This project enabled the SHGs to collectively generate more than Rs 30.8 lakh while increasingthe local availability of poultry meat and eggs.
