Dimapur, Sept. 1 -- The Naga Students Federation (NSF) on Tuesday held a demonstration at Naga Solidarity Park in Kohima before marching toward the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, demanding that the state assembly pass a bill or resolution against the singing or playing of the revised Vande Mataram at official and private programmes in the state.
The monsoon session of the Nagaland assembly began on Tuesday.
Addressing the rally, NSF president Mteisuding appealed to the legislators to pass a resolution against the singing or playing of Vande Mataram at official or private programmes in the state, reminding them that they are "first a Christian, then a politician".
