London, Oct. 21 -- Nottingham Forest has confirmed the appointment of former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche as the new manager.

The 54-year-old Englishman has signed a contract running until the summer of 2027, becoming Forest's third manager of the season.

Dyche replaces Ange Postecoglou, who was dismissed just 17 minutes after Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League.

Postecoglou failed to win any of his eight matches in charge, drawing two and losing six, after replacing Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked only three games into the campaign.

Forest currently sits 18th in the Premier League, with just one win from eight matches in what has been a turbulent start to the season.
