New Delhi, Oct. 24 -- In a historic first, the Vishnu Sahasranama Kodi Archana Yajnam, a sacred Vedic ritual of unparalleled magnitude, is being performed at the Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple in New Delhi.

This marks the first time the ritual is being conducted in North India, previously confined to the southern temples of Kerala.

The Kodi Archana is a rare and profound observance in which the thousand names of Lord Vishnu, the Vishnu Sahasranama, are chanted one crore (10 million) times, with a flower offered after each name.
