Shillong, June 16 -- union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Tuesday said that the North East is emerging as a vibrant hub of connectivity, commerce, tourism and innovation, playing an increasingly important role in India's growth story.
Addressing the valedictory session of the North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition 2026 here in Meghalaya, Shekhawat outlined a comprehensive vision for transforming the Northeast into a major hub for connectivity, trade, tourism, and investment.
"Infrastructure development goes beyond building roads and bridges, serving instead as a meansto connect people with opportunities, services, and markets," he emphasised.
