Kolkata, March 22 -- Issuing a stern warning against electoral malpractices, Kolkata Police Commissioner Ajay Nanda on Sunday said that incidents such as booth jamming, vote rigging or capturing would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Nanda made the remarks during a visit to Bhangar police station, where he reviewed poll preparedness and held a meeting with police personnel. The visit comes as the Election Commission has stepped up surveillance and directed senior police officials to inspect police stations across the state from Sunday onwards to assess readiness ahead of the elections.
