Pune, Sept. 8 -- "A country that forgets its teachers loses its geographical direction. There is still no software that can impart values. That responsibility has to be shouldered by teachers. Therefore, the role of teachers is very important," social worker Prof Dr Milind Bhoi said here on Monday.
He was speaking at a teachers' felicitation ceremony organised by Khadki Education Society.
The society presents awards to teachers in memory of its former secretary and former state minister Chandrakant Chhajed.
One teacher each from the society's 11 schools and colleges was presented with an award. A Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Chandrakant Bhurewar for completing 61 years of service with the institution.
