Jammu, May 20 -- Jammu city continued to reel under heat wave conditions as the maximum temperature today touched 42 degrees Celsius, which was 3.9 degrees above normal.

Katra registered 39 degrees Celsius, Banihal recorded 31 degrees Celsius, Batote 30.6 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 30.4 degrees Celsius, read the data provided by the MeT department.

The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain, thundershowers, gusty winds and hail storms scattered across Jammu and Kashmir till May 21.

Weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy till May 21, with spells of light rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds mainly during afternoon and evening hours, it read.
